The Merton Monthly: September

Wow, August flew by so quickly and it's hard to believe that Spring is already here! We participated in a lot of events and we're excited to share some incredible achievements from our team members.

Merton Updates

We are proud to announce that Lisa Barbaro is a finalist for the 2023 ALPMA: Australasian Legal Practice Management Association - Practice Manager of the Year award sponsored by Lawyers Weekly. This category recognises the excellence and outstanding achievement of a Practice Manager at a firm with less than 25 staff members; it is presented to an outstanding leader who has made a real difference, in a strategic and operational sense, to their workplace in terms of impact and effectiveness, and is seen as a leader among their peers. Congratulations to Lisa for being an exceptional asset to our team and the entire firm.

Vickie Lu has recently achieved the impressive accomplishment of becoming a Conveyancer.

As your Conveyancer, Vickie can help manage your residential sales and purchaser files from start to finish, ensuring that the process is smooth and efficient. She is also capable of conducting searches, applying for rate, and planning certificates, as well as drafting correspondence, letters, contracts, and statements.

In addition, Vickie can arrange settlements via PEXA and complete Duties Online forms, while also liaising with clients and other parties such as real estate agents, brokers, banks, and developers. Her understanding of trust transactions, nomination, and availability of stamp duty exemptions/concessions is comprehensive. Vickie is also fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English.

Congratulations Vickie and thank you for all your hard work and dedication to the Merton team.

The State Revenue Homebuyer Fund and What’s in it for You?

The Victorian Homebuyer Fund (VHF) creates an opportunity to get into the housing market by sharing equity in the property with the Victorian Government. Equity is simply another way of labelling the ownership share in the property. By entering into this scheme, you will need to view your home buying journey with a different mindset. In effect you are purchasing a portion of your property now and purchasing the rest of it later from the Government.
