The Month in Review: April
While April seems to have passed by in a flash, our team continued to make great strides and were able to put their support behind a number of exciting initiatives.
LaunchVic CivVic Labs Accelerator Program.
Our Managing Partner Anthony Curtin, and Solicitors Oliver Keogh and Isaac Hanna, presented to LaunchVic CivVic Labs as part of their 'Accelerator Program', through which startups collaborate with the Victorian Government to address issues facing the public sector. Among other topics, Merton Lawyers gave advice to emerging companies and founders on how to develop and utilise important negotiation skills in a business environment. We are thrilled to continue our partnership with LaunchVic and to support local businesses as they shape Victoria's landscape. Please visit our website for information on forthcoming events.
Ripple Surf Coast.
Anthony Curtin represented Merton Lawyers at the launch event of Ripple Surf Coast, a not-for-profit seeking to foster sustainable business practices throughout the Surf Coast community. The sold-out event - ‘Business as a force for good – what is a BCorp?’ - was headlined by prominent businesses and organisations including B Lab Australia and New Zealand, Patagonia, and Bellroy, who all shared their expertise on successful sustainable practices and how to become a B Corp. For further information and to stay up to date on upcoming events, please make sure to follow @ripplesurfcoast on Instagram and Facebook.
Hub Australia and Legally Yours.
Merton Lawyers had the pleasure of supporting Hub Australia and Legally Yours for their event, ‘How to Use the R&D Tax Incentive to Boost your Startup Cashflow’. The panel addressed how startups can access the Federal Government's cash rebate and utilise this to fuel cashflow for growth, while also covering other hurdles and benefits associated with the initiative. With around 15,000 business accessing this rebate each year, this was a highly anticipated event for entities seeking to take advantage of this incentive. We look forward to collaborating with Hub Australia and Legally Yours at upcoming events.
