The Month in Review: July

There are many ways to measure success. We take pride in the satisfaction of our clients, partnerships with meaningful organisations, and providing a platform for our staff to prosper.

SolarBuddy

Merton Lawyers has teamed up with SolarBuddy to help put an end to energy poverty. The collaboration is on a pro-bono basis in accordance with our broader philanthropic goals.

SolarBuddy is an impact organisation uniting a global community to illuminate the futures of all children.

One of the biggest obstacles we face is extreme energy poverty; invisible to most in the developed world, it is a daily reality for people living without access to safe, reliable, affordable electricity. It is a complex challenge, impacting the health and well-being, educational outcomes, and economic stability of the communities experiencing it as well as our environment.

Living in extreme energy poverty impacts children dreadfully and we do our part to help transform the lives of people for whom social injustice, economic injustice and just simply staying alive is dominated by the lack of access to modern energy. How? With the gift of light!

Supporting Small Businesses

As advocates for small business and community, we teamed up with local talent and put together a giveaway to help lucky winners either get started with their business or provide a refresh.

Congratulations to the prize winners. @kahanicelebrant, @kara.nelson_coachingwellness, @alemartigle, & @nicole_mroue.

A huge thank you to the partners for their generosity and local support. @_in_the_flow, @hpyspaces, @barefooted.earth, @awakenbyamelia, & @prizm.life.

Managing Directors David Rennex and Anthony Curtin recently spoke with the team from Archibiz Business Mentoring & Education about what those issues are and some steps that architects can take to protect themselves.

  • The majority of the litigation that involves architects revolves around payment.

  • Get familiar with the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act.

  • As your projects grow, so should your contracts.
