Alexander Phillips
Special Counsel
Alexander Phillips is a Special Counsel at Merton Lawyers within the firm’s Queensland Litigation Division.
Since joining the legal profession, Alexander has practised solely in Commercial Litigation, Dispute Resolution, Insolvency and Risk Management. Prior to Covid-19, Alexander had been practising at a top tier law firm in London of the United Kingdom involving cross boarder disputes, asset tracing investigations, insolvency and regulatory matters.
While Alexander is a technical lawyer and robust litigator, he maintains a court-work practice and regularly appears in courts and tribunals as an advocate without counsel, whilst aiming to provide commercial solutions for his clients. He partners with his clients to provide tailored and practical advice that identifies and manages risk, resolves disputes and provides representation at trial and on appeal.
Alexander has experience in representing clients in District, Supreme and Federal courts across all jurisdictions whilst delivering timely and cost-effective advice in understanding clients businesses and individual circumstances.
When not at Merton, Alexander can be found shooting course records on the golf course, at a remote beach relaxing with his family or setting lap records on the race track!
Alexander is admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland and High Court of Australia.
