Daniel Bycroft
Special Counsel
Daniel is a Special Counsel at Merton Lawyers where he also leads the firm's QLD litigation division. Widely regarded as one of Queensland's best dispute resolution lawyers, Daniel practices in all areas of litigation but specialises in and has a passion for strategic negotiation, high value property disputes, contractual interpretation issues, building and construction issues as well as corporate and personal insolvency. Daniel is an officer of the Supreme Court of Queensland along with the Federal and High Courts of Australia.
As Chief Operating Officer of Pitch.com.au, a platform which connects founders and entrepreneurs with potential investors, Daniel uses his spare time to guide the company’s strategic direction, and compliance.
With an Honours Degree in Law from Bond University, he has completed studies at the University of Utah in the United States. Conversant in Mandarin, Daniel has gained an in-depth knowledge of Chinese law through studies at Suzhou University along with the East China University of Law and Politics in Shanghai.
When not at Merton, Daniel can be found: Snowboarding in the cowboy country on the west coast of the USA or at a remote beach somewhere judging competitions on both the world surfing and bodyboarding world tours.
